AI bot checker: may ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read your website?

Many websites block AI crawlers without knowing it, often through a default in their hosting or a plugin. Then ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can't cite you. The checker reads your robots.txt and shows for 11 bots whether they're allowed in.

We store neither the address nor the result. Your IP is only used briefly, hashed, to prevent abuse.

Should I block GPTBot?

That's your call. GPTBot collects training data. For answers in ChatGPT, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User matter – allow those.

My hosting blocks AI bots. What now?

On Cloudflare the settings are called “Block AI Scrapers and Crawlers” and “Bot Fight Mode”. Turn them off there; robots.txt alone isn't enough then.
